Nigerian author, Reno Omokri has shared his thoughts about what Nigeria needs to develop.

The former presidential aide made this known in a recent post he made on his verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Twitter.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

In his post, he stated that university programmes like sociology and linguistics are ‘belle-full’ courses, meant for people who have conquered poverty and live in luxury.

According to him, Nigeria is still developing and it needs university programmes like Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths to develop.

The post he made reads;

“What is the relevance of say sociology, or linguistics to Nigeria’s present challenges? Many of these courses are ‘belle-full’ courses, meant for people who have conquered poverty and live in luxury. Nigeria needs Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths to develop!”

His followers also shared their thoughts about the post and here are some reactions;

@olusok – That’s a one-sided view of development sir

@ahovi_usman – Sir the way and method they are teaching some of those courses you mentioned you will shocked especially engineering

@_badboyriz – The courses you mentioned as a criteria for development would definitely yield material benefit but Nation-building does not depend on physical needs alone.. you only attain true freedom when you experience a wave of social change which is vital to control our social values..
